ACCESSIBILITY FOR ONTARIANS WITH DISABILITIES STATEMENT

Di Maio Design Associates | Architect Inc. is committed to providing our services to our clients, consultants, and to the public, in a way that is accessible to all people with disabilities.  We believe in providing an environment that accommodates the needs of people with disabilities in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

DMA provides training to all employees who deal with the public, and all those who are involved in the development and approvals of customer services policies, practices and procedures on Ontario’s accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities.  We will communicate with persons with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. We will train staff who communicate with clients, consultants, and the public, on how to interact and communicate with people with various disabilities.  We will ensure that all staff dealing with the public is trained on how to interact with persons of disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal or support person.

DMA will provide customers with notice in the event of a planned or unexpected disruption in the facilities of service used by persons with disabilities. This will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated duration and a description of the alternative facilities or services, if available.

DMA is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.  We are committed to ensuring that reasonable accommodations are made to persons with disabilities during recruitment and assessment processes. DMA will notify job applicants about the availability of accommodations and notify successful job applicants about policies for supporting employees with disabilities.

DMA are committed to ensuring that reasonable accommodations are made available to employees with disabilities.  We will inform employees of policies for supporting employees with disabilities including and provide accessible formats and/or communication supports to employees, upon request.  We will accommodate employees who have been absent from work due to a disability and require reasonable accommodations to return to work.  DMA will review and consider accessibility needs of employees with disabilities throughout the career development process.
