Michael Di Maio is a founding principal of Di Maio Design Associates Architect. He has over 35 years of professional experience in planning, design and construction of complex institutional and commercial developments.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Detroit and received a Bachelor of Science form Lawrence Technological University. He has also been a Full-time Instructor at St. Clair College in the Architectural Technology Programme from 1986 to 1992 and a Sessional Part Time Professor at the University of Windsor teaching Urban Design and Planning Theory for 5 years.

Principal-in-Charge and Team Leader for Di Maio Design Associates Architect since 1994, Michael brings extensive experience in Programming and Assessing Functional Requirements, Design, Contract Documents, Construction Management, Feasibility Studies and Master Planning.

The University of Michigan has also retained the services of Michael and the design firm on several important and state-of-the-art projects. The Kellogg Eye Center Expansion and Renovations at the University of Michigan was a 220,000 sq-ft facility consisting of eight floors for clinics, surgery and research. Approximately 72,000 sq-ft will house Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences programs including clinics, surgery suites, research space, faculty offices and support spaces. About 33,000 sq-ft will house the Brehms Diabetes Research and Analysis Center activities including research labs, system analysis and bioinformatics offices, a “Cure Room” convening space and related support spaces.
